Partnerships

Our Partnerships Team promotes our club's brand awareness and form long-term partnerships with other key stakeholders.

As an Economics major who did not hail from a technical background, this did not stop Jane from her pursuit of a career in product management. Previously an investment analyst at GFR Fund, a San Francisco-based venture capital fund, Jane realised the importance of being a product-led organisation, which inspired her further in taking on product roles in her subsequent internships, before focusing on her full-time PM role after her recent graduation. Despite her short commitment as our inaugural Head of Partnerships for one semester, Jane’s contributions in establishing our fireside chats with full-time PMs will be highly valued when our club intends to build future collaborative opportunities in the long run.

With a keen interest in data analytics, Sean began as an IT Operations Intern at Aimazing, a startup focused on Retail Analytics which was incubated in Block71. Following his exposure to the startup culture, he started working as a Product Intern at Burpple to ship data-driven products. Also considering his prior roles as Talent Management Director for mental health start-up I’m Friendly Co. and Student Relations Director in NUS Computing Technopreneurship Society (StartIT), these have culminated in him landing a role at Workato in his existing stint at NOC Silicon Valley. As our Co-Head of Partnerships, both he and Jane have worked together to establish a vision for our Partnerships Team, utilising their personal connections to facilitate networking opportunities for our club.

"Nothing to lose"

Nicole’s expertise lies in sponsorships - this is evident in her previous experiences as Head of Marketing in both NUS Bizad Club and Temasek Hall, securing cash prizes, merchandise and food items for a wide variety of school events. Furthermore, her previous stints in multiple marketing internships - including her recent role in SGInnovate - display her grit to constantly adapt to different environments, which is always a valuable asset to have. Despite her recent exposure to product management, she has nonetheless done her due diligence in learning the ropes behind her new role in our club, and will be working together with Junhao to further establish long-term connections for our club over our second semester.

"One man can change the world"

As a founding member of NUS.AI (RC4AI), Junhao’s experience in growing this new interest group through garnering support from both NUS Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and AI Singapore will be vital in his new role for our club. Although he is currently on exchange in our first semester, we believe that he will be able to excel in building meaningful connections for our club upon his return to Singapore in our second semester. He will be essential as our Co-Head of Partnerships in our second semester, as he will be spearheading our club’s new initiative of sourcing industrial attachments that would benefit our students interested in product management.

"Delulu is always the solulu!"

Eloquence is perhaps Janelle’s greatest trait. Her prior experiences in publicity and marketing in NUS Psychology Society and AIESEC in Singapore has enticed her to expose herself to opportunities beyond her Psychology major - including product management. With her role in assisting Jane to coordinate our ShopBack fireside chat early in our first semester, she will be continuing her role as one of our Partnerships Executives in sourcing long-term partnerships for our new club.

Given his prior background with a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, Jun Bin made a courageous switch to pursue Information Systems as his major discipline in university. His experiences as an undergraduate so far includes completing a software engineering internship at an IT consulting startup, as well as serving as a Head of Product at Google Developer Student Clubs NUS. As a Partnerships Executive in our first semester, he played a key role in facilitating our club’s very first fireside chat with Singapore Maritime Foundation, setting the tone for similar events towards the second half of the semester.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, Marcus has opted to kickstart his university earlier than the rest, including enrolling in an introductory programming module and participating in an inter-university data analytics competition before his first semester. Marcus has also juggled his time in university in various commitments, including playing floorball in Residential College 4 and serving as the Workshops Vice-Director in NUS Statistics and Data Science Society. His wide range of data internships, including at Vertex Ventures and Shopee, have implored him to explore further on product management, given its close relationship with start-up environments. For our first semester, he served his role in our Partnerships Team by coordinating one of our club’s fireside chats, featuring a HR-turned-PM from Ninja Van.

An extrovert by nature, Roshan’s vast experiences in winning pitch competitions has allowed him to thrive in the opportunities presented in front of him, including as a proactive participant in the first iteration of our flagship PM1101E programme, and recently securing a product internship at Veeva Systems. With his foundations in Business Analytics, he hopes to excel in his journey towards product management, and has contributed in sourcing potential leads for our club.

Despite his background in Mechanical Engineering, Girvin has constantly sought opportunities to explore beyond his horizons - including previously leading publicity strategies at NUS Chemical Engineering Student Society (NUS ChESS) and serving as a research analyst at NUS Entrepreneurship Society. As part of our inaugural batch of PM1101E participants, he has been inspired to dive deeper into the world of product, including working in a product role for an entry-level startup focusing on digitalising financial advisory services.

“Dare to dream, then do it”

Pursuing a double degree in Computer Science and Business Administration, Marcus aims to be a tech entrepreneur, including co-founding a startup as a product manager to develop the MVP of an online ecosystem to upskill the technical expertise of the elderly. Besides his other commitments in NUS Entrepreneurship Society and NUS MedTech, Marcus has also participated in multiple hackathons organised by SUTD and DSTA, to further boost his knowledge both in the technical and business fields. In addition, he is a software engineer in Our Food Chapter, an AI MarTech project incubated in NUS Social Impact Catalyst. With his experiences as a freshman, Marcus will be a part of our club as a Partnerships Executive in our second semester, assisting to build long-term relationships for our club.

“Live (simply), Laugh (often), Product (manage).”

With a Diploma in Mass Communication, Susan has garnered a wealth of marketing and social media experiences, stemming from multiple freelance and internship opportunities over 4 years. Most recently, she managed the social media accounts of NUS Enterprise as a Marketing Intern, with the responsibility of launching marketing campaigns for NUS Enterprise Summer Programme in Entrepreneurship 2023. While she is also exploring entrepreneurship as a member of NUS Entrepreneurship Society, Susan is learning to widen her experiences in product as well, joining our club as a Partnerships Executive in our second semester. Her role in our club will consist of onboarding start-ups to support our industrial attachment programme for our club members, as well as potentially organising a networking event towards the end of our second semester.

"Keep faith!"

As a disciplined individual who has managed his time well so far in university, Bing Yang’s school experiences include leading our school’s varsity floorball team in multiple inter-varsity competitions, as well as heading one of Temasek Hall’s overseas-learning programmes which will be held in Thailand. On top of this, he has also led his team as the national champions of Unilever Future Leaders’ League 2023, before later representing our country during the Global Finals of the competition in London. Given his prior product internship experience at Privé Technologies before university as well, he is looking to further cultivate his interest in product by joining our club as a Partnerships Executive in our second semester.

"Life is short so just whack :D"

With his extensive experiences throughout his undergraduate career, Arnav has done it all - be it in terms of student life, academics or internships. Starting off his NUS journey in Ridge View Residential College, Arnav has progressively improved himself holistically - taking on leadership roles such as a Machine Learning Training Lead in NUS Fintech Society, as well as Vice President (Student Life) of the 24th Management Committee of NUS Students’ Computing Club. These experiences, along with his prior data internship roles at STACS and Bumble Labs - the latter which is a part of his NUS Overseas Colleges stint at Stockholm, have allowed him to make a gradual pivot to product. Most recently, he landed a role at TikTok as a Product Intern, and will be assisting our Partnerships Team to organise fireside chats with full-time PMs towards the later half of our second semester.
