About Product Analytics
An annual collaboration with NUS Statistics and Data Science Society (NUS SDS), this workshop features the usage of Tableau - and how students can utilise it to understand how data analytics plays a part in product management. Check out our workshop iterations below!

In collaboration with NUS Statistics and Data Science Society (NUS SDS), this workshop goes through the concepts of product analytics and its techniques, as well as advanced Tableau dashboards such as cohort analysis and geographical distribution using an open-source e-commerce dataset.

Returning for its second iteration, this collaboration featuring NUS SDS provides an overview of the three main concepts of product analytics: cohort analysis, A/B testing and predictive analytics - with the latter being the main focus for this workshop using Tableau as a main tool.

Subject to changes, the workshop will be held at S16-06-118, which is located within Science at NUS. The workshop will be held from 7 to 9pm on 13 Feb 2025 (Thurs).
Subject to changes, this workshop likely will be held in a hybrid format - where confirmed participants will be allowed to either attend in-person or virtually via Zoom. For an enhanced experienced especially with the hands-on segment, we highly recommend in-person attendance so that our presenters can help to answer your queries.
Do note that the Zoom session will NOT be recorded, and it is likely that the Zoom chat will not be monitored during the presentation.
In this workshop, students can look forward to learning the basics of product management, how product analytics is widely used in the business context today, as well as the different tools and concepts used to measure product metrics.
In particular, we will be going through both the basic and advanced features of Tableau, including how to plot regression charts to demonstrate the usage of predictive analytics to measure the success of a digital product.
This workshop is intended to be beginner-friendly, so do come with an open mind especially if analytics is new to you!
Tableau is a versatile data visualisation tool used extensively in product analytics to create interactive dashboards that offer insights into product performance, user behaviour, market trends etc.
Its ability to connect to various data sources, along with its user-friendly interface, makes it an invaluable resource for both technical and non-technical users, helping organisations optimise their products and tailor their strategies to meet market demands and enhance user experiences.
As a collaboration between NUS Product Club and NUS SDS, our team comprises of members from both clubs - namely Kai Rong and Su from the former, as well as Harish and Gangjoon from the latter club.
This combined workshop team will be led by Harry, a Data Analyst presently working at PayPal, having prior history with both student clubs.
For student participants, they are eligible for a free one-year Education license which can be used to install Tableau Desktop on their laptops.
A detailed installation guide will be sent via email to guide those who require additional assistance.
For this workshop, we will be running a lucky draw for students who turn up for our workshop on the actual day. To be eligible, students would have to scan a QR code for attendance taking on the day itself. 3 lucky winners will be awarded $30 worth of Grab vouchers each.
The results of the lucky draw will be disseminated a few days after the workshop, do look out for it on our socials!
