Curriculum

Our Curriculum Team will brainstorm popular topics on product management before designing the necessary materials for educating our students.

"Don't stop believing"

Coming from a business and finance background, Joanna did not choose to be an investment banker, but instead developed a strong interest in the tech field and strived to be a product manager ever since her first internship at a tech startup in Year 2. Upon returning from her NOC stint at Stockholm, she joined L’Oreal as a Digital Product intern to design and improve the product vision of L’Oreal‘s digital sales solution. She then subsequently joined Grab Financial Group and launched the GXS Digibank and new GrabFin experience for 8 million Grab users independently. Now a fresh graduate, Joanna is currently working as a product manager at SingTel. Despite her no longer being an NUS student, Joanna has kindly volunteered her time in being a pioneer for our club by serving as our inaugural Head of Curriculum - an essential role in providing the knowledge that is required by aspiring PMs in NUS.

"Never give up!"

As an Information Systems undergraduate, Clare’s wide array of experiences in external hackathons and competitions has landed her key internships in Synapxe and PRISM+ - both which will be essential in her path towards product management upon graduation. Initially starting off as a Curriculum Executive in our first semester, her new responsibility in our second semester as Deputy Head of Curriculum would be leading our new team of five to ensure the smooth operations and execution of our next run of PM1101E: Exposure to Product Management. On top of this, she will also be exploring other technical workshops which can benefit our students in the long run.

"Just do it!"

As a highly driven individual passionate about entrepreneurship and project management, Cleon has utilised his skillset as a Computer Science undergraduate to expose himself to a wide array of opportunities, including a software engineering internship at a local startup, as well as his stint as a Deputy Project Leader in 180 Degrees Consulting (Kent Ridge). These experiences, along with his hackathon accomplishments, have proved to be a great asset in our Curriculum Team, as he constantly provides constructive feedback while finetuning our programmes for our initial run of PM1101E. Together with Chi Sin, Cleon has served as a host for many of our physical events, which is a great fit given his outspoken personality.

"Here for the vibes :p"

With his background in data, Henry has spent his first year and a half in NUS contributing actively to student life, including conducting an SQL workshop as a Workshops Executive in NUS Statistics and Data Science Society. In addition, given his stint as a data analyst intern at United Overseas Bank in Thailand over the past summer, Henry is currently exploring his journey in product by co-founding a start-up specialising in video analytics, as well as pursuing a product role at SimpleAI - a local SaaS startup specialising in accounting. With his pivotal role in ensuring that our first PM1101E run was a great success, Henry will also be in charge of conducting a technical workshop on product analytics in Tableau in our second semester.

"Can one lah"

Coming from an engineering background, Chi Sin’s first exposure to product management was through a passion project where she took on a product role without knowing what it entailed. Through that experience, she learned about building a consumer product and was later intrigued to join our club. As one of our Curriculum Executives, she has played a vital role in organising our first run of PM1101E and collaborating with SMU Product Club to host our first ever PM Career Series. With her energetic and bubbly personality, her experiences in emceeing some of our various events in our first semester has evidently contributed to her landing a product role at Tribe.

“PM1101E - great beginner's taster into product!”

Specialising early in Finance and Economics for her undergraduate studies in Business Administration, Swareena has accumulated a wealth of experiences in blockchain despite her short undergraduate career so far, including working as a Web3 Research Analyst in SGVerse, as well as being part of the Blockchain Department in NUS Fintech Society. Entering PM1101E as a participant in our first semester, her experience in emerging as the winning team in our Internal Product Competition has inspired her to step up as a Curriculum Executive in our second semester. Along with other returning participants, she will be assisting Clare to oversee the next iteration of our six-week flagship programme, providing inputs based on her experience to finetune our programme for future participants.

"Why not?"

Despite her background in Computer Science, Xinping is looking to pivot into product management rather than embarking on the conventional journey of being a software engineer. This was especially after she has explored a wide variety of interests prior to entering university, including studying geopolitics in junior college and working as a HR intern at Ministry of Home Affairs. Having emerged as a first runner-up from our Internal Product Competition, Xinping has expressed her interest in returning to our club as a Curriculum Executive in our second semester, working closely with Clare and other returning participants to organise our second iteration of PM1101E.

“Be curious, not judgemental.”

Given his background in Business Analytics and Economics, Kyle has wasted no time in optimising his time as an undergraduate, previously interning at Handshakes by DC Frontiers, an award-winning DataTech startup that utilises interactive maps to unveil relationships up to 3rd degree connections. His prior experiences in analytics and product in that start-up has spurred him to join our first iteration of PM1101E, where his team ideated a mobile application to assist students in coordinating meetings with greater convenience. Moving forward, Kyle aims to enhance the experience of our future PM1101E participants, and will do so as he steps up as a Curriculum Executive over our second semester. Besides his experiences, Kyle was also previously the Vice Project Director (External) for NUS Economics Camp 2023.

“Stay Curious :D”

Having obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Commerce at Monash University, Hilman is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Strategic Analysis and Innovation in NUS. Prior to his postgraduate studies, Hilman has accumulated a wealth of experiences as a full-time product manager in various companies, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Telkomsel, both belonging to vastly different industries, namely finance and telecommunications respectively. Given his additional certifications in user experience and a professional scrum product owner, Hilman’s expertise will play a key role in assisting our Curriculum Team in brainstorming ad-hoc workshops besides PM1101E that will benefit our growing product community in NUS.

“I like Pizza”

As one of the many non-tech majors planning to explore product management as a prospective career, Norman was part of our first batch of PM1101E participants, where his team suggested additional features to enhance the utility of UNiDAYS, an existing discount platform for students. Given his positive experience in PM1101E, along with his aim to secure his first product internship, Norman will be stepping up with other previous PM1101E participants to organise the next iteration of our PM1101E programme in our second semester. On top of his academic commitments as an Economics undergraduate, Norman is also an active organiser of various activities in Eusoff Hall, including his hall’s annual Bash.
