Get to apply your PM skills in real-world projects!

About

As a new initiative for our second semester, our programme aims to allow participants to have hands-on experience with real-life projects to increase their proficiency with product management. Inspired by the curriculum structure of PM1101E, this 10-week programme aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms and practical skills required in the dynamic field of PM.

FAQs

Got any questions regarding IA? Look through our Frequently Asked Questions to find the information you need.

How many slots will be available for this programme?

As stated previously, we are looking to secure up to 6 startups for our initial run of IA. With up to 2 students to be selected for each project, we will be shortlisting up to 16 pax for this coming semester. While past PM1101E participants will be given priority to be shortlisted for this programme, we will be opening this to students across all years and majors as well!

How will the selection process be like?

Upon submitting your application to us, our Partnerships Team will reach out to you to schedule an initial call to find out more about your background and interests. Depending on this initial call, you may then be shortlisted for another interview with our recommended partner before being potentially offered a position in our IA programme, subject to the partner’s approval.

How should I prepare for my initial call?

Before an initial call with our Partnerships Team, you will be required to fill up a pre-interview form to indicate your top 3 choices of industries that you may potentially be working in throughout our 10-week programme. Depending on your responses, we will then discuss with you in detail the matchmaking process for our IA programme during the initial call.

How long will the IA be?

Our IA will run from Weeks 1 to 10 (January to March 2024), while also facilitating a short break in between for midterms. In addition, here will likely be weekly check-ins between our students and our industry partners. Should an extension of commitment be required from either party beyond these 10 weeks, NUS Product Club will not be responsible for any further monitoring of such arrangements.

What if I am in O’Comm and/or have signed up for PM1101E in Semester 2?

For these individuals, you are strongly not advised to sign up for IA. Although we are planning to moderate the workload for IA, we believe that this may lead to commitment issues, especially due to the weekly assignments from PM1101E. Should you still be interested, however, feel free to sign up!

What if I lack PM experience or did not attend PM1101E beforehand?

While IA was supposed to be an extension of PM1101E, we understand that we are now also opening this to individuals with little to no prior product experience. As such, we intend to conduct training workshops to train our participants sufficiently before properly commencing the IA, with more details to be announced at a later date.
